I took this photo a while back. The field this was growing in was a mustard field. Although there were no mustard plantations at the time. It wasn’t the season, I guess…
Well, from the leaves, it looks like a cactus. So, I’m guessing it’s that, although I could very easily be wrong about that assumption. The flower does look like a mustard flower, albeit a lot bigger (and different in shape too). Come to think of it, I could just have named this post – UFO (Unidentified Flower Object).
In other news, I’ve been doing some setup with my posting program yesterday, hence the delay… Also, I’m getting a huge monitor (color calibrated, yay!) and speakers delivered this weekend…

Looks like a thistle of some kind to me. I like that pretty yellow blossom.
Thanks Steve… I thought it was a thistle too in the beginning… But those flowers seem to be particularly pointy, unlike this one…
It is pretty whatever it is. yay on the new monitor
Thanks, Christine…
Such a beautiful flower to complement the cactus' painful-looking spines.
Indeed, Steven! Thanks…
Excellente prise. Au premier regard elle paraît douce mais quand tu vois toutes ses épines le long de sa tige tu changes d'avis

En effet, JP! Bien que la fleur reste le point culminant de cette plante …
That is beautiful
Thanks, Joshi…
you are very good at these flower shots, Sudipto. i got mine calibrated a year or so back and there was quite a big difference!
Thank you Ayush… That means a lot to me…
I'm not sure if we have calibration services here… And if we did, I suspect they'd charge ungodly amounts of money for that…
Yay for delightful UFOs and for toys to play with. Have fun, Sudipto.
Thanks, Ginnie…
Beautiful…The leaves are thorny…but is this cactus ? I wonder !
Devi
I don't think it's cactus… But this one had me stumped… The leaves look a little thick and mushy like a cactus… I wonder if it's a hybrid of two plant species…
