Another cool bird I photographed during my cousin’s wedding. That place has all kinds of birds, probably because of all the greenery and paddy fields, mustard fields and sugarcane fields…
I have recently decided to post birds with their common names (will take more research than usual, but it’s worth it). This one’s a Jungle Babbler. And although the Wikipedia article does state that they stick in groups of 7 (and are thus called the ‘Seven brothers’), I only saw three. The others were hiding behind leaves and this individual was the only one in my direct line of sight at the time.
Turns out, they don’t actually babble.

Great use of light that outlines the bird in a "halo" of light here!!
Thank you Steve… I got lucky…
love your image, Sudipto. i have never tried "shooting" birds and would not know how to begin!
Thanks Ayush…
And well, for starters, you'll need a telephoto (the longer the better) and some patience. And please never get a manual focus one… I spend more time focusing than clicking with mine…
Wait… You meant "shooting" with a camera right?
