After years of deliberations and procrastination, I finally took a trip to Goa this weekend. And I hadn’t heard the right things about the place. What I had heard of were the EDM festivals, the cheap booze and the food. But no one had told me of the exquisite biodiversity in the place. Perhaps, I was asking all the wrong questions…
This photo was taken during a backwater trip through the mangroves, just behind Palolem beach. The boat guy had somehow befriended the birds over there… He kept throwing pieces of chicken, and the eagles and the kites kept leaping in the water to get hold of them. This was one of them, waiting for its turn.
I’m not entirely sure if it’s a Black Kite or a Steppe Eagle, but it is magnificent.

Awesome capture! I love how its plumage is backlit!!
Thanks, Steven… The backlighting's the best part… The time of day was just right for getting both the blue sky and the backlight…
Magnificent, indeed, Sudipto. WOW.
I was lucky enough to be able to frame this right. They were circling around so fast.
And I'm grateful to the boat guy. He made my day…
This is an awesome shot!
Thank you, Christine…
Un Milan ? Pas facile à capturer

En effet, JP… Le fait qu'ils aient été séduits par leur petit-déjeuner a aidé…
De plus, Google Translate n'a pas pu traduire Milan…

You really must visit sometime, Ayush… If you're into raves, Christmas – New year's the best time…
Très belle prise ! Bien joué !
Merci beaucoup, Olivier.
Perfectly captured! The picture is just awesome and the article about your experience is quite interesting. I am actually imagining the whole scenario you have described above. But, I can’t even imagine how difficult it would be to capture this perfect picture. Really appreciating! Best photography tours Bulgaria
